Police are investigating the death of a farmer whose charred remains were discovered after a fire destroyed his home in Ewarton, St Catherine, on Tuesday.
The deceased has been identified as Wilson Thomas.
According to police reports, at approximately 4:00 p.m. on July 21, a fire was observed at a house along Coghiel Road in Ewarton. The Jamaica Fire Brigade was alerted and responded to the blaze.
After firefighters brought the fire under control and began cooling-down operations, Thomas’ body was found inside the burnt dwelling.
The scene was processed by investigators, and the body was removed to the morgue pending a post-mortem examination.
Police are continuing investigations to determine the cause of the fire and the circumstances surrounding Thomas’ death.
