Law enforcement authorities have ramped up efforts to combat lottery scamming in St Thomas, leading to the arrest of four individuals during targeted operations.
The action was carried out by the National Strategic Anti-Gang Division, which operates under the Specialised Investigations Branch (SIB). According to police reports, the arrests were made in connection with alleged violations of the Law Reform (Special Provisions) (Fraudulent Conversion) Act.
During the operations, officers confiscated more than $950,000 in cash. A Mercedes-Benz motor vehicle and several debit cards were also seized as part of the investigation.
The identities of the suspects have not been released as inquiries remain ongoing. Authorities indicate that further updates will be provided as the case develops.
