ST JAMES, Jamaica — An 87-year-old man died after a fire destroyed his home in Top Melbourne, Montego Bay, during the early hours of Wednesday morning.
The deceased has been identified as Cassiena Anglin, affectionately known as “Cassy.”
According to reports, residents noticed the house engulfed in flames shortly after 2:00 a.m. and immediately alerted the Jamaica Fire Brigade.
Two units from the Montego Bay Fire Station responded and worked to extinguish the blaze. During cooling-down operations, firefighters discovered Anglin’s remains inside the charred ruins of the house.
The police were called to the scene, and the body was removed for a post-mortem examination.
Investigators are continuing their probe to determine the cause of the fire.
