Police in Manchester say all available leads have been pursued in the ongoing search for 12-year-old Jayden Smith, who has been missing since late September last year.
An update was provided on Wednesday by Superintendent Carey Duncan, commanding officer of the Manchester Police Division, who confirmed that despite extensive efforts, the child has not yet been located.
Jayden, a student of Manchester High School, was reported missing on September 26. Since then, members of the police force, along with relatives and the school community, have been actively involved in search efforts.
Investigators have also followed reports suggesting the boy may have been seen in Mandeville around the time of his disappearance. Police further disclosed that Jayden reportedly withdrew funds from his savings account and purchased additional food shortly before going missing.
Superintendent Duncan said the search remains active and that police will continue their efforts to find the child.
Jayden is described as being of dark complexion, slim build, approximately five feet tall, and is from Whales in Newport, Manchester. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the nearest police station.
