Maintenance Worker Killed in Sangster Airport Accident on His Birthday

A maintenance worker died on his 58th birthday after parts of a crane he was reportedly operating fell on him at Sangster International Airport in Montego Bay, St James, on Friday morning.

He has been identified as Everton Campbell, of Grants Pen in Kingston.

Campbell was working on the airport ramp when the incident occurred and reportedly died at the scene.

Details of the accident remain limited. The nature of the maintenance work and the circumstances that caused sections of the equipment to fall have not yet been disclosed.

The incident is expected to prompt investigations by the relevant authorities into the circumstances surrounding Campbell’s death.
