Grenadians will head to the polls on November 5, following an announcement by Prime Minister Dickon Mitchell on Sunday night.
Mitchell revealed the election date during the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) campaign and candidate launch. Nomination Day is scheduled for October 15.
The NDC, which secured a 9–6 victory in the 2022 general election, is seeking a larger parliamentary majority, Mitchell said.
Its main challenger is expected to be the New National Party, led by Emmalin Pierre. She will become the first woman to lead the party into a general election.
The Democratic People’s Movement, headed by former foreign affairs minister Peter David, is also expected to contest the election for Grenada’s 15 parliamentary seats.
