Jamaica’s newest dancehall sensation, DKoi, born Deshaun Jackson on September 4, 2004, hails from the cool hills of Sugar Loaf, Hillside, near Gordon Town in St Andrew.
Known as the “Young Don” among his peers, DKoi is a proud alumnus of Mavis Bank High, where he received his education while nurturing a growing passion for music.
Although DKoi officially entered the music industry in 2019, his exposure to music began at a much younger age. Having practically grown up in the studio, he was immersed in the creative process from an early stage.
His first recording, “Summer Vibes,” was produced by Kanpe Tof Records and released in 2019. From that point, DKoi decided to pursue music wholeheartedly and began laying the foundation for his career.
Determined to carve out a unique space for himself, DKoi has made building his brand a priority. His sound is melodious and captivating, drawing on the musical influences of the island that raised him while also incorporating inspiration from international artistes such as John Legend.
In recent years, DKoi has steadily released new music for his growing fan base while attracting attention from the media. Among his releases are “Inagram,” produced by his own imprint, Young Donz Entertainment, and “Elevate,” produced by ZJ Dymond.
Now, in 2026, DKoi is managed by Cashout International, a team preparing to introduce a fresh wave of music from the artiste. The campaign began with the release of “Symphony” in August, as DKoi seeks to showcase his versatility and connect with audiences beyond Jamaica.
With ambitions to take his unique sound and messages to the world, DKoi wants his music to resonate with people from all walks of life. More than entertainment, he hopes his journey will inspire others to pursue their dreams despite the challenges they may face.
