White Hill, St Elizabeth – Residents of White Hill in St Elizabeth were left stunned and saddened after the decomposing body of an elderly farmer was discovered in his yard on Monday morning.
The deceased has been identified as 80-year-old Amlin Fearon, a long-time resident and farmer in the community.
Reports reaching McKoy’s News are that around 10:00 a.m. on August 4, Fearon’s body was found under a tree located at the back of his house. Alarm was raised after a strong stench led concerned residents to investigate.
When they approached the area, they were met with the horrifying sight of Fearon’s body in an advanced stage of decomposition.
The Maggotty police were summoned to the scene. Following standard procedure, the body was removed and is now scheduled for a post-mortem examination to determine the cause of death.
While no foul play has been confirmed, investigators are probing the matter thoroughly.
One resident, speaking to McKoy’s, said:
“Is a man everybody know… Quiet and always in him garden. We shocked how him just drop out like that and nobody know.”
The community is now in mourning as questions linger around the circumstances of the discovery.
