The body of 50-year-old Nicole Brown, a farmer from the Barton Wharf district in Lacovia, St Elizabeth, was recovered from a river in the parish on Tuesday afternoon.
Brown had been reported missing since Sunday, August 2.
Police are investigating the case as a suspected murder. Investigators believe Brown was allegedly killed by a former partner, who then disposed of her body in the river.
A 41-year-old man, identified as Brown’s former partner, is in police custody after he was reportedly rescued from an angry mob. Residents alleged that the suspect confessed to dumping Brown’s body into the river.
Investigations into the incident are ongoing.
