Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic – Dominican flag carrier Arajet, through its social responsibility program “My First Flight,” made it possible for 95-year-old Estanislao Ureña Ramírez to travel outside the country for the very first time, fulfilling a lifelong dream and reuniting him with his family in New York City.
The initiative is part of the airline’s broader vision to democratize access to air travel. It aims to give Dominicans who have never flown the opportunity to experience new countries and cultures, while strengthening human connections and bringing families closer together.

For Mr. Estanislao, the journey was more than just a flight—it was a deeply meaningful experience that allowed him to reconnect with loved ones he had not seen in years. In addition, he was able to visit New York City for the first time, one of the world’s most iconic destinations, accompanied by his family and supported by Arajet.
Since its launch, the “My First Flight” program has impacted nearly 1,000 Dominican citizens, giving them the chance to travel abroad for the first time. The initiative highlights the airline’s ongoing commitment to social development, inclusion, and equal access to opportunities.
“Mr. Estanislao’s story is a powerful reminder of why we do what we do,” said Víctor Pacheco Méndez, CEO and founder of Arajet. “At Arajet, we firmly believe that flying should not be a privilege, but an accessible opportunity for everyone. Through ‘My First Flight,’ we continue connecting families, creating transformative experiences, and bringing more Dominicans closer to the world.”
Through programs like this, Arajet continues to position itself as more than just an airline—one that connects not only destinations, but also people and stories, while contributing to social inclusion and strengthening family bonds through accessible air travel.
