A man previously listed as wanted for murder is now in police custody after turning himself in on Thursday.
Jason Omar Channer, also known as ‘Popeye’, reported to authorities in the presence of his attorney. He had been sought by investigators in relation to the killing of 54-year-old Rohan ‘Fatta’ Lee.
According to police reports, Lee was shot and killed along Belvedere main road in Red Hills, St Andrew, at approximately 1:30 a.m. on October 13, 2025.
Channer, a resident of the Waggles community in Belvedere, had been under active investigation by detectives assigned to the Constant Spring Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB) prior to his surrender.
In the wake of this development, the St Andrew North Police Division has renewed its appeal for other individuals being sought to turn themselves in.
Among those listed are Shevon Matthews, also known as ‘Max’, who has ties to Zambia in Central Village, St Catherine, and Blue Hole in Red Hills, St Andrew; Emar Grinham, otherwise called ‘Bully Beef’, of Andrews Pen, Kingston 8; Kenroy Willis, also known as ‘Papa’, from Rosehall in Lawrence Tavern, St Andrew, who is wanted for murder and is also a person of interest in multiple shootings; and Tevin Harris, called ‘Ratty’, with addresses in Kingston 19 and Kingston 14.
Police further noted that the St Andrew North Division remains the only one across the island’s 19 policing divisions without a recorded murder since the beginning of 2026, highlighting ongoing efforts to curb violent crime.
Authorities are urging anyone with information related to illegal firearms, gang activity, or the whereabouts of wanted individuals to contact the Constant Spring CIB.
