Guns, Ammunition, and Lead Sheets Seized in Hanover Police/Military Operation

ORANGE BAY, Hanover — A joint police/military operation in Orange Bay, Hanover, has resulted in a major breakthrough for law enforcement, with the seizure of high-powered weapons, ammunition, and materials believed to be linked to fraudulent activities.

According to the Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF), the targeted operation led to the recovery of seventy lead sheets, which are commonly associated with lottery scamming; a Bersa Thunder 9mm pistol loaded with two rounds; a Diamondback rifle loaded with seventeen 5.56mm rounds; a Dominican Republic driver’s license; several overseas debit cards; and a range of cleaning agents.

The operation, which was carried out by a joint police and military team, is part of the ongoing effort by security forces to dismantle criminal networks operating in western Jamaica.

In a statement, the Hanover Police reaffirmed their unwavering commitment to public safety:

“The Hanover Police remains resolute in their commitment to dismantling criminal networks and ensuring the safety and security of our communities. The Jamaica Constabulary Force will not relent in our efforts to pursue and bring to justice those who threaten public order.”

Investigators are continuing their probe to determine the source and intended use of the seized items, particularly the lead sheets and foreign debit cards, which are often associated with identity theft and lottery scamming schemes.

No arrests have been confirmed at this time, but the JCF says operations in the parish will continue as part of a wider strategy to suppress criminal activity and restore public confidence in the region.
