Two Women Remanded After Nightclub Assault in Montego Bay

Montego Bay, Jamaica — Two women accused of launching a violent attack on a colleague at a Montego Bay nightclub have been remanded in custody following their appearance in the St James Parish Court on Wednesday.

Isheka Thomas, otherwise known as “Lollipot”, is facing a charge of wounding with intent, while co-accused Vanessa Ewers, known as “Sky”, has been charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm.

According to court documents, the incident occurred on March 29 during an altercation involving the complainant and three other women—all of whom are said to be employees at the same popular nightclub. The dispute escalated quickly, turning physical.

It is alleged that Ewers and another unidentified woman struck the complainant in the face, while Thomas used a pair of scissors to stab her twice in the neck and once in the arm. Reports further indicate that Thomas was preparing to stab the complainant a third time when the victim managed to block the attack with her mobile phone.

The incident was reported to the police, resulting in the arrest and subsequent charging of Thomas and Ewers. The third woman involved in the altercation remains at large.

Presiding Judge Kaysha Grant-Pryce, after conferring with both the court clerk and the investigating officer, ordered that the two accused remain in custody until April 16, when a bail hearing is scheduled.

The case has drawn public attention due to the graphic nature of the alleged assault and the fact that all individuals involved are reportedly part of the same entertainment establishment.
