St Mary Brothers Charged with Ammunition and Ganja Possession

St Mary, Jamaica —  Two brothers from St Mary are behind bars after police discovered ammunition and ganja during an early morning raid last Thursday in the Castleton division.

Charged are 27-year-old Leyon “Bashy” Fisher, a landscaper of Heywood Hall, and his 34-year-old brother, Roshaine “Fisher” Fisher, a security guard from Scott’s Hall. The men are scheduled to appear before the St Mary Parish Court on April 17.

According to police reports, officers from the St Mary division carried out a targeted operation at a three-bedroom concrete house in Scott’s Hall, which was occupied by the brothers. During the search, law enforcement uncovered eleven 9mm rounds of ammunition hidden under a bed, along with an undisclosed quantity of ganja.

Investigations further revealed that Leyon Fisher was in breach of bail conditions stemming from a previous charge related to the possession of a prohibited weapon. As part of his bail terms, he was barred from being in the Scott’s Hall community at the time of the raid.

Neither man was able to account for the presence of the ammunition, leading to their arrest and subsequent charges for illegal possession of ammunition and possession of ganja.

The case has once again raised concerns over bail violations and the continued circulation of illegal weapons and drugs in rural communities. The police have confirmed that investigations are ongoing.
