Two men have been arrested and two illegal firearms seized following a deadly shooting in Wheelersfield, Golden Grove, St. Thomas.
The victim, 53-year-old Michael Small, also known as ‘O’Neil’ or ‘Biggs’ from Orange Field, Linstead, St. Catherine, was shot multiple times at a business place on December 13 and later pronounced dead at hospital.
In response, St. Thomas police increased patrols and set up cordons along key routes. On Sunday, officers intercepted two men on separate motorcycles along Martha River Road. Searches led to the seizure of a high-powered assault rifle with a makeshift suppressor and spent-casing catcher, as well as a .38 revolver.
Investigations continue as authorities work to determine the circumstances surrounding the murder.
