A 30-year-old St Andrew technician has been charged in connection with the September 26 shooting death of Omiela Walker along Hibiscus Avenue in Kingston 11.
Antoneo Palmer faces charges of murder, conspiracy to murder and misprision of a felony. Police allege that he rented a car and drove the alleged gunman to the location.
Walker, 25, otherwise known as “Naana”, lived on Hibiscus Avenue.
According to the Hunts Bay Police, Palmer allegedly rented a 2015 Toyota Axio, which he and an alleged accomplice used to travel to the community.
At approximately 7:25 p.m., the car reportedly stopped near Walker’s gate. Police say a man exited the vehicle, approached her and opened fire, striking her in the head and upper body.
The gunman reportedly returned to the car, which then left the scene.
Walker was taken to hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
Investigators say CCTV footage helped them identify the vehicle allegedly used in the attack. It was later seized for processing.
Palmer subsequently surrendered to police and was charged. His court date is being finalised.
