ST CATHERINE, Jamaica — Three men were shot and killed by police during a reported confrontation along the Mandela Highway in St Catherine shortly after midday on Wednesday.
Reports are that the men were travelling in a Honda Fit motor car when they were intercepted by lawmen. During the encounter, gunfire was exchanged, leaving all three occupants fatally shot.
A heavy police presence quickly converged on the scene, causing traffic delays along the busy corridor as investigators processed the area.
The identities of the deceased have not yet been released.
The police have since launched a full investigation into the incident.
