A Home Circuit Court jury has returned a guilty verdict against Police Constable Noel Maitland in connection with the death of his girlfriend, 24-year-old entrepreneur and social media influencer Donna-Lee Donaldson.
The decision followed more than three hours of deliberations by jurors, who concluded their review of the evidence earlier today before delivering the verdict in open court.
Maitland faces charges of murder as well as preventing the lawful burial of a corpse, both arising from circumstances surrounding Donaldson’s death. The case has drawn sustained public attention due to the victim’s prominence online and the accused’s role as a serving member of the Jamaica Constabulary Force.
Further proceedings are expected as the court moves toward sentencing.
