KINGSTON, Jamaica — Tension erupted at Kingston Public Hospital (KPH) early Monday morning when police shot a male patient following a stabbing incident.
Reports indicate that around 5:40 a.m., hospital staff called police to a ward where a patient had allegedly stabbed another individual. During the response, the man reportedly attacked an officer with a weapon, leading the officer to discharge his firearm.
The injured patient is currently being treated at the hospital, and authorities have launched an investigation into the incident. Officials are urging calm as more details emerge.
