Three men were shot dead on Monday afternoon during an alleged confrontation with security forces in the Rose Heights community of St James.
Reports indicate that police were in the area when they were confronted by armed men, leading to an exchange of gunfire.
The men were taken to hospital but later died from their injuries. Authorities are continuing investigations into the incident.
