A fatal stabbing in Penn Avenue, Kingston 11, has resulted in murder charges being laid against a 23-year-old man.
The incident occurred on Sunday, December 15, and claimed the life of 35-year-old Richard Walker, otherwise called “Richie”, a resident of the area.
Police have charged Adonii Hayles, also known as “Bobo”, a trader from the same community, in connection with Walker’s death.
Reports from the Hunts Bay Police indicate that at approximately 8:20 p.m., an argument between the two men escalated into a fight. The altercation was reportedly separated by relatives of Hayles.
Investigators say Hayles later left the scene and returned armed with a knife, which was used to inflict several stab wounds to Walker.
Walker was taken to hospital for medical treatment but later died from his injuries.
Following the incident, Hayles reportedly turned himself in to the police later that day in the company of a family member. He was formally charged with murder the following day. His court date is now being finalised.
