MANCHESTER, Jamaica — A teenager from Knowles Heights, Mandeville has been charged with the murder of 61-year-old Roy Pearson, a farmer from the same district.
Police in Mandeville reported that around 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 14, Pearson was injured during a physical altercation with the boy. He was taken to hospital for treatment but later succumbed to his injuries.
Arrest and Pending Court Date
The accused was taken into custody shortly after the incident and formally charged on Wednesday.
Investigators say a court date will be announced once preparations for the case are complete. Residents of Knowles Heights have been left stunned by the killing, describing Pearson as a respected community member and expressing sadness over the involvement of a youth in such a serious crime.
