KINGSTON, Jamaica — Jermaine Findley of Rocky Hill, Santa Cruz, St Elizabeth has been charged with burglary and larceny after a series of break-ins in Coral Spring Village, Trelawny earlier this month.
Findley was formally charged on September 16, following a dramatic pre-dawn incident that prompted a swift police response.
Early-Morning Intrusion
According to the Falmouth police, about 3:50 a.m. a Coral Spring homeowner was roused by a phone call and went to investigate noises inside his house. He reportedly discovered Findley in one of the rooms.
The accused allegedly fled when the alarm was raised, escaping with an undetermined sum of cash and several pieces of jewellery.
CCTV Evidence and Arrest
Investigators later secured CCTV footage said to place Findley at the scene. An intelligence-led operation that same day led to his interception. Police recovered a gold bracelet and a wedding band, believed to be among the stolen items.
Awaiting Court Date
Findley remains in custody while a date is being finalised for his first court appearance. Residents of Coral Spring have welcomed the arrest, saying it has restored calm to their normally peaceful community.
