Jamaica has re-engaged 157 Cuban medical professionals, bringing the number serving in the public health system to 200.
Health Minister Dr Christopher Tufton announced the development at Wednesday’s post-Cabinet briefing.
The returning workers join 43 who remained after the previous bilateral arrangement ended. They are employed under individual contracts and have been deployed across regional health authorities, the University Hospital of the West Indies and the ministry.
