A tense family dispute in Park Hall, Frankfield, Clarendon, turned deadly on Sunday after a policeman fatally shot his own brother during a violent confrontation.
Reports reaching Mckoy’s News are that the constable, who is attached to the St James Police Division, became involved in a heated argument with his sibling when the situation took a deadly turn. During the dispute, the brother allegedly attacked the officer with a pair of scissors, stabbing him.
The injured policeman reportedly drew his service pistol and fired, hitting his brother. The wounded man later succumbed to his injuries.
Residents of the community say they are stunned by the tragic incident, noting that the brothers had a history of tension.
Both the Frankfield Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB) and the Independent Commission of Investigations (INDECOM) have launched separate probes into the shooting as investigators work to determine the full circumstances surrounding the deadly altercation.
