The dancehall community is in mourning following the death of Miracle, the newborn daughter of entertainers Kiprich and Kizzy Don.
Confirmation of the infant’s passing was provided on Thursday by a close relative of the child’s mother. No further details were immediately disclosed.
Miracle was born prematurely while the couple was in Colombia on a work-related trip. Following her early birth, the baby was admitted to intensive care at a medical facility in the South American country, where she remained under close supervision.
In the weeks after her birth, the parents had been seeking financial assistance to transfer the infant overseas for specialised treatment. They indicated that advanced medical care was not readily available locally and that arrangements were being made to airlift the baby to the United States.
Reports indicated that Kizzy Don had travelled with Kiprich for a stage performance when the unexpected delivery occurred, leaving the couple stranded abroad and facing significant financial strain.
The family had estimated that approximately J$40 million would be required to facilitate the medical transfer. A GoFundMe campaign launched to support the effort raised more than US$27,000 toward its US$250,000 goal before the infant’s death.
