ST ELIZABETH, Jamaica — An investigation is underway following the discovery of a decomposed body inside a motor car in the Lacovia area of St Elizabeth on Wednesday morning.
According to preliminary information, residents became suspicious around 10:00 a.m. after noticing a swarm of flies around a parked vehicle. On closer examination, a body was seen inside the car, prompting an immediate report to the police.
Law enforcement officers responded to the scene and carried out initial processing before the body was removed and transported to the morgue.
Police have not released the identity of the deceased, and the circumstances surrounding the death remain unclear. An autopsy is expected to be conducted to determine the cause of death as investigations continue.
