Kodak Black was arrested in Florida on Wednesday in connection with an alleged drug trafficking case involving MDMA, according to local authorities and court records.
Investigators say the arrest stems from an incident in November 2025 near Orlando’s Children’s Safety Village, where police responded to reports of gunfire. During the investigation, officers reportedly searched multiple vehicles and allegedly discovered MDMA, cash, and other items connected to the rapper.
Prosecutors have charged Kodak Black with trafficking less than 200 grams of MDMA, a felony offense under Florida law that can carry significant prison time if convicted.
The rapper’s attorney, Bradford Cohen, said his client voluntarily turned himself in and intends to fight the allegations in court. Cohen argued that the prosecution’s case is weak, claiming Kodak Black was not inside the vehicle at the time authorities conducted the search.
Kodak Black, born Bill K. Kapri, has faced several legal troubles over the years, including weapons and drug-related charges. In 2021, he received a presidential pardon following a federal firearms conviction.
Authorities have not announced a trial date, and the investigation remains ongoing.
