Dancehall recording artiste Jamal “Dunce Man” is gearing up to deliver one of the season’s most highly anticipated performances as he takes the stage at UPDATE – Part 5, the signature birthday celebration hosted by Alliance Blacks.
Fresh off the growing buzz around his latest single Money Fragrance, produced by Extol Music, Jamal is expected to bring a dynamic, high-energy set that showcases his evolving sound and deep connection with dancehall fans. The track has been steadily gaining traction across multiple platforms, building strong momentum.
The ‘G.A.D.’ artiste has already established a solid presence in the dancehall scene with hits like Girls Are Drugs, Time, and Ballandor. Known for his unique style and commanding stage presence, his addition to the lineup further enhances the event’s overall appeal.
Alliance Blacks, promoters of UPDATE, shared: “UPDATE, now in its fifth staging in Jamaica, continues to grow bigger each time. It has evolved beyond a birthday celebration into a true showcase of dancehall culture—embracing authenticity while staying rooted in the essence of the genre. Patrons can come out, enjoy the atmosphere, the music they love, and experience top DJs all in one space.”
UPDATE – Part 5 continues to expand beyond its original concept, now firmly positioned as a cultural dancehall experience. With five stagings in Jamaica and successful expansions into New York (two stagings) and Canada (one staging), the event remains fully supported by the dancehall community.
The event is set for Wednesday, April 8, at Gee Wee Car Park, 1A Caledonia Avenue, Kingston 5, and will feature music by JR Chromatic, Boom Boom, Heavy Metal Sound (Canada), and DJ Owlie.
