Musician Camryn Magness, who once opened for One Direction and Fifth Harmony, has died.
The heartbreaking news was announced on her social media pages Tuesday, accompanied by a clip of Camryn scuba diving and blowing a kiss to the camera. The post read:
“Our hearts are heavy as we mourn the loss of our beloved Camryn, a radiant force whose voice, coy, and bright spirit touched so many. Whether beneath the waves or on stage, she met life with fearless energy and boundless kindness.”
According to her obituary, Camryn passed away last Friday. She is survived by her parents, Sarah and Gary, her siblings Chelsea and Cable, and her fiancé, Christian, to whom she had been engaged for several years.
Camryn’s passion for music began at an early age. She started pursuing her dreams professionally at age 8, sending a demo to Jeff Pringle, who became her manager. In a 2012 interview with Teen Vogue, she recalled, “After that, I started recording and writing and that’s when I got my first tour with Cody Simpson and Greyson Chance.”
Over the years, Camryn shared the stage with some of pop music’s biggest names. She toured with Cody Simpson and Greyson Chance on the Waiting 4U Tour in 2010, and again with Greyson in 2012. That same year, she joined One Direction for seven shows of their Up All Night Tour and later for their 2013 Take Me Home Tour. In 2016, she opened for Fifth Harmony during their 7/27 Tour.
Her last album, “Love Maps,” was released in 2021.
Camryn Magness is remembered by fans and colleagues as a fearless performer with a kind and bright spirit, leaving a lasting legacy in the music world.
