Female Cop Injured After Service Vehicle Overturns on Long Hill Road

ST JAMES, Jamaica — A female police officer attached to the Hanover Police Division was injured on Wednesday afternoon after the service vehicle in which she was travelling overturned along the Long Hill main road in St James.

Reports indicate that the officer and a male colleague were travelling in the police vehicle when the driver reportedly lost control following a tire blowout.

Investigators said the vehicle veered off the roadway, climbed an embankment, and overturned.

The female officer sustained injuries to her forehead and was transported to hospital for medical treatment.

The male officer was also taken to hospital for examination following the incident.

The crash caused heavy traffic congestion along the busy roadway as the overturned vehicle blocked sections of the route before it was later removed by a wrecker.
