Security forces have detained thirty-one Haitian nationals following a targeted operation conducted in the Byles District of Kitson Town, St. Catherine, on Tuesday.
The exercise was carried out around 10:30 a.m. in the Guanabovale area, where the group was discovered occupying a house. According to police, those taken into custody included twenty-three men and eight women.
Following the operation, immigration authorities were notified, and the matter has since been handed over for processing in keeping with established immigration procedures.
The development comes amid continued reports of Haitian nationals being located in various parts of the country in recent months, as migration pressures persist due to ongoing violence and instability in Haiti.
Investigations into the circumstances surrounding the latest discovery are ongoing.
