KINGSTON, Jamaica – A 25-year-old vendor has been charged with multiple gun-related offences following a late-night police operation in Kingston.
Aaron Leslie, otherwise known as ‘Gun Skool,’ of Delacree Lane, Kingston 11, was apprehended on Thursday during a snap raid conducted by law enforcement officers in the community.
According to reports from the Hunts Bay Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB), the charges stem from an incident earlier this year. A man was reportedly standing outside his gate when two men were seen jogging toward him. Upon nearing the man, Leslie allegedly pointed a firearm at him, causing him to flee in fear for his life. The victim managed to escape unharmed and later reported the incident to the police.
Following investigations, Leslie was taken into custody on Monday, February 3. He was formally charged after a question-and-answer session conducted in the presence of his attorney.
Leslie now faces charges of possession of a prohibited weapon, using a firearm to commit a felony, and assault at common law.
The police continue to urge residents to report illegal firearm activities as they intensify efforts to curb gun violence in the area.
