WESTMORELAND, Jamaica — A police-military operation in Seaford Town turned deadly early Friday morning, leaving a man known by the aliases ‘Pepper’ and ‘Jordan’ dead.
The shooting occurred shortly after 3 a.m.
Police say a firearm was recovered following the incident.
Residents, however, have alleged that the man was killed inside his home in the presence of his children.
Investigators from the Independent Commission of Investigations (INDECOM) are on the scene.
As of September 16, 217 people had been killed by members of the security forces this year, including 19 so far this month.
