Wanted Man Shot Dead During Police Operation in Kingston

KINGSTON, Jamaica — A man wanted by police was killed in a shooting during an intelligence-led operation on Jacques Road in Kingston on Saturday morning.

The deceased has been identified as Devar Hodges, also known by the aliases “Skeddo” and “Blackhead,” from Browns Town, St. Ann.

Police sources said the incident occurred at approximately 5:30 a.m. during the operation conducted in the Jaques Road area. Hodges was reportedly wanted for wounding with intent and had been named by the Jamaica Constabulary Force as one of several individuals regarded as key figures in criminal activity islandwide.

No additional details have been released at this time as the investigation continues.
