Vendor Shot and Killed in Catherine Hall, St. James

Vendor Shot and Killed: The Freeport police in Montego Bay, St. James, have launched an investigation into the shooting death of a vendor in the Catherine Hall community on Sunday morning.

The deceased has been identified as 47-year-old Mario Black, also known as ‘Bowyah’, residing at Lot 135 in Catherine Hall.

Reports indicate that around 5:45 AM, Black was standing beside his stall along the Catherine Hall main road when a man approached him and brandished a handgun.

The assailant opened fire at Black, prompting him to flee. However, the gunman pursued and caught up with his victim, who sought refuge in a parked motor car.

Black suffered multiple gunshot wounds to his upper body before the police were called to the scene. His body was subsequently removed to the morgue for post-mortem examination.
