Boy Drowns in River in St. James: The Amity Hall police in St. James are investigating the circumstances leading to the drowning of a 15-year-old male student in a river in the Amity Hall community on Saturday.
The deceased has been identified as Demoy Lawrence, residing at a Dumfries address in Adelphi, St. James.
Reports indicate that around 2:00 PM, Lawrence and a group of other boys went to a river in the Amity district for a swim.
It is further reported that upon entering the water, the teen encountered difficulties and drowned before help could reach him.
The police were summoned, and upon arrival, the body was recovered from the water and subsequently removed to the morgue for a post-mortem examination.
