Several flights between Jamaica and the United States have been cancelled or delayed as a powerful winter storm batters sections of the US East Coast, creating widespread travel disruptions.
At Norman Manley International Airport (NMIA) in Kingston, a number of US-bound and incoming services were affected as airlines adjusted schedules in response to severe weather conditions overseas. Similar disruptions were reported at Sangster International Airport in Montego Bay.
Airlines operating out of major US hubs, particularly in the Northeast, have scaled back operations due to heavy snowfall, strong winds and reduced visibility. The changes have had a ripple effect on Caribbean routes, including flights to and from Jamaica.
Airport officials are advising passengers to check directly with their airlines for updated flight information and rebooking options before heading to the airport.
The situation remains fluid as weather conditions continue to impact air travel across the United States.
