Westmoreland authorities reported the deaths of three males, including a 15-year-old student, during an intense exchange of gunfire with police at an unfinished home in Cornwall Mountain on Thursday afternoon.
The deceased have been identified as Romaine Campbell (15), Christopher Campbell, and Delano Leslie, also known as “Crazy”, a man previously listed among the parish’s most wanted.
Police say that around 3:30 p.m., an intelligence-led team of officers went to the incomplete concrete dwelling searching for Leslie, who was wanted in connection with multiple murders, shootings, and other criminal activities. Upon arrival, officers reportedly came under gunfire from men inside the house.
The confrontation escalated into a sustained gunbattle, which continued into nearby vegetated areas of the community. When the situation was brought under control, the three men were found with fatal gunshot injuries.
Authorities also recovered two 9mm pistols at the scene as part of the ongoing investigation.
Police have not released additional information as inquiries continue.
