A man from St Catherine has been formally charged after investigators linked him to a fire that destroyed a woman’s house in the parish late last month.
The accused is 42-year-old Ronaldo Campbell, a labourer who resides in the Lucky Valley district. Police say the incident stemmed from a dispute between Campbell and the complainant, the mother of his child.
According to reports, the disagreement occurred at about 10:30 p.m. on December 21, 2025. It is alleged that sometime after the confrontation, the woman’s house was deliberately set ablaze and was completely destroyed.
The matter was reported, prompting an investigation by the Riversdale Police, which led to Campbell’s arrest. Following a question-and-answer session, he was charged with arson on December 31, 2025.
Police say arrangements are now being made for Campbell to appear before the court.
