The Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of crime, Fitz Bailey, has confirmed that a suspect is in custody following the disappearance of 29-year-old teacher, Danielle Anglin. Anglin had been missing for the past 21 days, sparking widespread searches and calls for her safe return.
Danielle Anglin went missing on Monday, May 13. She was last seen around 5 AM on her way to work, reportedly taking an InDrive taxi from her home in Hellshire, St. Catherine.
The search for Anglin tragically ended on Monday when skeletal remains, believed to be hers, were discovered in Salt River, Clarendon.
In an update on the case, DCP Bailey stated that the driver of a vehicle, possibly the one taken by Anglin on the day of her disappearance, has been arrested.
While it is still early to conclusively determine whether the remains are those of Anglin, DCP Bailey revealed that the suspect has confessed to involvement in the case. He also noted that the suspect has a criminal history, having been previously arrested in 2015 for various sexual offences.
The investigation is ongoing as authorities work to confirm the identity of the remains and piece together the circumstances surrounding Anglin’s disappearance.
