Westmoreland, Jamaica: “Shawn Storm” Fatally Shot – The Westmoreland police reported that Tevin Robinson, 25, also known as ‘Shawn Storm’, who was out on bail for murder and was the prime suspect in the killing of a husband and wife in Content district, Westmoreland on Tuesday, was fatally shot during a confrontation with the police in the Bluefields area of the parish on Wednesday.
The victims, 36-year-old Kirk Hall, known as ‘Ken’, a farmer, and his wife, 57-year-old Merlene Dailey-Hall, a food vendor, both from Content district, were allegedly murdered by Robinson.
Reports indicated that around 3:00 am, residents heard a barrage of gunshots coming from the direction of the couple’s home. Shortly afterward, witnesses observed the house on fire and saw a group of heavily armed men fleeing from the yard.
Police and fire department personnel were summoned to the scene. Upon arrival, firefighters found the house fully engulfed in flames, which prevented immediate rescue attempts. After extinguishing the fire, they discovered the charred remains of Hall and his wife.
Initial police investigations revealed that Hall had earlier killed several goats that had been causing damage to his farm. Some of these goats were allegedly owned by Robinson. Robinson confronted Hall demanding compensation for the goats, but Hall instructed him to leave his property. Robinson returned on Tuesday morning and allegedly murdered the couple.
Later on Wednesday afternoon, Robinson was spotted along a section of the Bluefields main road. Upon seeing approaching police officers, he reportedly brandished a handgun and fired at them. In response, the police returned fire, fatally shooting Robinson.
An illegal firearm and several rounds of ammunition were recovered from Robinson. He was pronounced dead upon arrival at the hospital.
