The St Elizabeth police have arrested a police constable attached to the Marine Division of the Jamaica Constabulary Force after he was caught in possession of over 500 pounds of ganja in St Elizabeth on Thursday.
He has been identified as Constable George Jr. Powell, stationed at the Port Antonio Marine Division.
Reports state that a team of officers acted on intelligence and intercepted a grey Toyota Hiace minibus with Constable Powell and two other men on board.
A search of the vehicle led to the discovery of 14 knitted bags containing compressed ganja, weighing approximately 500 pounds.
Investigators also revealed that the two other men are believed to be illegal Haitian immigrants.
