Kingston, Jamaica — A targeted police operation in Tope Range, Kingston 3, on Thursday morning led to the seizure of multiple illegal firearms and assorted ammunition within the St Andrew Central Policing Division.
According to reports from the Half Way Tree Police, officers conducted a search between 4:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. along McIntosh Drive. During the operation, lawmen reportedly discovered a shopping bag positioned between a tree trunk while searching premises in the area.
The bag was examined and found to contain a Colt semi-automatic pistol fitted with a magazine holding two .45 calibre cartridges.
A subsequent search of the surroundings, assisted by members of the Canine Division, resulted in the discovery of four homemade firearms. Officers also seized forty-one 12-gauge cartridges, nine 9mm rounds, one .40 calibre cartridge, and one .22 calibre cartridge.
No arrests were made in connection with the seizure. Investigations into the matter are ongoing.
