ST CATHERINE, Jamaica — Police are searching for the suspected former boyfriend of a female security guard who was stabbed to death in Old Harbour early Saturday in a suspected domestic violence incident.
The deceased is 39-year-old Patricia Dennis of Hawk Lane in Bullet Tree District, Old Harbour.
According to reports, Dennis returned home from a wake about 1:30 a.m. when the suspect arrived and attempted to enter her house.
An argument reportedly followed, prompting Dennis to go to the nearby home of the suspect’s mother to complain. The man allegedly chased her and attacked her there, stabbing her in the neck, abdomen and upper body.
He reportedly brandished a firearm before fleeing into nearby bushes.
A relative rushed Dennis to the Spanish Town General Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
Reports indicate that Dennis and the suspect had previously been in a relationship that ended following frequent arguments.
The Old Harbour police have launched a manhunt as investigations continue.
