St James, Jamaica: Rose Heights Men Held – The Freeport police have arrested two men who were held on the compound of the Montego Bay Police Station in Freeport, St. James, on Thursday night, in possession of several illegal rounds of ammunition and a quantity of ganja.
They have been identified as 42-year-old Donald Mitchell, also known as ‘Blacks’, a warehouse attendant, and 28-year-old Aldine Reynolds, also known as ‘Andre Yankee’s’, also a warehouse attendant, both of Rose Heights.
Reports indicate that around 10:00 p.m., both men were observed in a white Nissan AD Wagon motor car, lingering in the vicinity of the cells block on the compound of the Freeport police lock-up.
Upon the approach of the police, Mitchell, who was driving the vehicle, attempted to speed away, but his path was blocked. A search of their persons and the car resulted in the discovery of two live 5.56 rounds and a 7.62 spent casing.
A brown plastic bag, which was observed being thrown at the side of the cell block by the men, was retrieved and found to contain four transparent plastic bags with ganja, 44 sticks of cigarettes, and six packs of rolling paper.
The vehicle was impounded at the station, and the men were taken into custody.
