Firearm Seizure in St. Elizabeth: Three men have been taken into custody following the seizure of an illegal firearm during a police spot check in Pedro Plains, St. Elizabeth, on Sunday.
The identities of the men are being withheld pending further investigations.
Reports indicate that around 1:00 am, a team of officers were conducting spot check duties along the Pedro Plains main road when they signaled the driver of a motor car to stop.
Upon the driver’s compliance, a search was conducted on his person, as well as on the persons of two male passengers traveling in the vehicle.
The search resulted in the seizure of a 9mm Ruger semi-automatic pistol found in a bag worn around the neck of one of the passengers.
Following an investigation, all three occupants were arrested.
