A fire of unknown origin destroyed a six-apartment board and concrete dwelling house in Truro, Burnt Savannah, Westmoreland, on Friday.
Reports indicate that around 9:00 am, residents in the community noticed fire emanating from a section of the house occupied by a 40-year-old woman and her two sons, prompting them to alert the fire department.
Upon the firefighters’ arrival, they could only conduct cooling-down operations, as the fire had already completely destroyed the house and all its contents.
None of the occupants were at home at the time of the fire, and damages are estimated at over $6 million.
