The Hanover police have arrested one man in connection with an illegal firearm found under his pillow at his home in Bamboo Top, Green Island, Hanover, on Tuesday.
The accused has been identified as 26-year-old Lincoln Lewis, also known as ‘Orrie’, a labourer also from Bamboo Top in Green Island.
Reports indicate that a joint police-military operation was carried out at a seven-apartment concrete dwelling house, and a room occupied by the accused man was searched.
During the search, the police found a Smith and Wesson 9mm pistol fitted with a magazine containing six live 9mm rounds, which was hidden under his pillow.
