World renowned dancehall artist Kiprich has been quiet for a while now but is reclaiming his spot since his latest single, “Darkness”, dropped on Friday, May 31st, 2024. The track entered the US iTunes Reggae Singles Chart on Wednesday, June 5, at number 33 and climbed its way up to number 18 before midnight.
“Darkness” was released under the esteemed group of producers, namely 1Family Records, Real Live Records, DJ Treasure Music and A’Legends Productions. It is being heavily promoted by the marketing geniuses at Ejor Media Group through PR guru Lesley Hayles who was brought on by Jenelle Alexia of A’Legends fame and Garry Rainford from Real Live Records. This trio’s goal is to bring Kiprich back to the forefront of the dancehall industry and regain his place as one of the greats to ever do it.
In doing so, the main focus is promoting Kiprich, given name Marlon Plunkett, and “Darkness”, a track about losing a friend or loved one and the ensuing darkness that follows the grieving process, the dark thoughts and feelings of regret everyone experiences while mourning. The music video, directed by Deko Massiv and released on the same day, has garnered a whopping 53,000 views within the 5 days since “Darkness” was uploaded to YouTube.
Currently in the US on a promo run, Kiprich will be doing a series of radio interviews, including one with Dr MichelleG on Get With The Fix Radio in New Jersey, Ja Irie Radio in New York and One Love Radio in Connecticut. Kiprich has some shows lined up as well, a major one being in the Bahamas on June 22nd and Flippa Moggela’s event in Philadelphia on the 30th.
